Povidone Iodine Solution
[Main Ingredient] Iodine
[Description] This product is a reddish-brown liquid.
[Pharmacological Action] This product continuously releases free iodine, destroying the metabolism of pathogenic microorganisms and causing their death. It is a highly effective and low-toxicity disinfectant, with good killing effects on bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
[Action and Use] Halogen disinfectant and antiseptic. Used for disinfection of surgical sites, skin, and mucous membranes.
[Dosage and Administration] Calculated as povidone-iodine. For skin disinfection and treatment of skin diseases, 5% solution; for dairy cow teat dipping, 0.5%–1% solution; for mucous membrane and wound irrigation, 0.1% solution.
[Adverse Reactions] No adverse reactions have been observed when used according to the prescribed dosage and administration.
[Precautions]
(1) Contraindicated in animals allergic to iodine.
(2) When the solution turns white or light yellow, it loses its disinfecting activity.
(3) Should not be combined with mercury-containing drugs.
[Withdrawal Period] Not required to be established.
