[Main Ingredient] Cloprostenol
[Description] A clear, colorless liquid.
[Pharmacological Action] Cloprostenol is a hormonal agent with potent luteolytic activity. It rapidly induces luteal regression and inhibits its secretion. It also directly stimulates uterine smooth muscle, causing contraction and cervical relaxation. In animals with normal estrous cycles, estrus usually occurs within 2–5 days after treatment. In pregnant cattle at 10–150 days of gestation, abortion usually occurs within 2–3 days after injection.
[Indications] Hormonal agent with luteolytic effect. Used for synchronization of estrus in cows and induction of parturition in pregnant sows.
[Dosage and Administration] Intramuscular injection: Cattle 3–6 ml; Swine 1.5 ml. Intrauterine injection: Cattle 1.5–3 ml.
[Adverse Reactions] Application after 5 months of gestation may increase the risk of dystocia and reduce drug efficacy.
[Precautions] (1) Do not use in pregnant animals where abortion is not intended.
(2) As the drug can induce abortion and acute bronchospasm, pregnant women and personnel with asthma or other respiratory diseases should exercise extreme caution and avoid contact with the drug.
(3) Cloprostenol is readily absorbed through the skin. In case of accidental skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water.
(4) Do not administer concurrently with non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
[Withdrawal Period] 1 day for cattle and swine.
