Detailed description
Fipronil Spray
[Main Ingredient] Fipronil
[Description] This product is a colorless or almost colorless clear liquid.
[Pharmacological Action]
Pharmacodynamics: Fipronil binds to the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptors on the central nervous system cells of insects, blocking the chloride ion channels of nerve cells. This interferes with the normal function of the insect's central nervous system, causing excessive excitation of the central nervous system in insects and mites, leading to death.
Pharmacokinetics: Fipronil is a highly lipophilic drug. The drug adheres to the skin between the dog's shoulder blades and spreads via the oils on the skin surface. Within 24 hours of administration, it distributes to the entire body surface and is stored in the sebaceous glands. It is then continuously released onto the skin surface and hair via normal sebum secretion. The amount absorbed into the bloodstream through the skin is very small, but it is widely distributed, mainly stored in adipose tissue. Fipronil entering the systemic circulation is primarily metabolized into its sulfone metabolite, which is excreted in urine and feces along with unmetabolized fipronil.
[Indications] Insecticide. Used to eliminate fleas and other external parasites on dogs.
[Dosage and Administration] External spray, spray volume is 0.5ml per spray. Administer according to the length and density of the dog's hair. The dosage for short-haired and long-haired dogs is 3ml and 6ml per 1kg body weight, respectively. For dogs with medium-dense hair, administer within the dosage range of 3~6ml per 1kg body weight, which is equivalent to 6~12 sprays of this product per 1kg body weight. For dogs with severe infections, the dosage can be doubled, once a month. Or follow veterinary advice.
Operating Instructions: Place the animal in a well-ventilated room or outdoors. The operator should wear waterproof disposable gloves. When the animal is relatively calm, hold the product vertically at a distance of about 10~20cm from the animal and spray against the hair over the entire body. The application sites include the left and right forelimbs, chest, abdomen, hindlimbs to the hind paws; for the back, spray from the neck backward to the waist and tail; for the ventral area of the dog, spray from the bottom of the lower jaw to the chest, belly, and inner sides of the limbs; for the head and head area, first spray the medication onto the gloves, avoid the eyes and mouth, and gently apply it to the hair until the hair is completely wet. After spraying, rub the coat to ensure the entire coat layer is wet and the medication covers all skin and hair. Allow to air dry naturally; do not dry with a towel. Use this product two days after the dog is bathed. Avoiding bathing within 24 hours after use can achieve the best efficacy.
[Adverse Reactions] If dogs constantly lick the application site, temporary salivation may occur due to the excipients in the formulation. In addition, a very small number of affected dogs may experience transient skin allergic symptoms at the application site (peeling, hair loss, itching, and red rash). Extremely rarely, dogs with sensitive constitutions may experience neurological symptoms such as allergies and depression, or vomiting and abnormal breathing after use. If the above situations occur, administration should be stopped immediately.
